Boudoir

A closed studio, three hours, and no one else in the building. Most people book it for themselves, and leave with the first photographs of their body they have ever liked.

How it goes

We talk before you book — a call, twenty minutes, no pressure. You tell me what you want out of it and what you would rather not photograph. I tell you exactly what the session looks like so nothing on the day is a surprise.

The studio is on the third floor of a converted textile building. Big north windows, a door that locks, a robe waiting for you. Hair and makeup happen there, so you never have to travel in full glam.

Nothing is published anywhere unless you sign a separate release for it. The default is that these photographs are yours alone, and that stays true whether or not you ever tell me otherwise.

The call

Twenty minutes on the phone. What you want, what you are nervous about, what to wear. You get a written plan afterwards.

Hair and makeup

Ninety minutes in the studio with me doing your face. This is also where most of the nerves burn off.

The session

Two hours, three or four looks, your playlist. I direct every pose, so you are never left standing there deciding what to do.

Choosing

You see the full take on the studio screen before you leave. You pick the keepers; anything you dislike is deleted in front of you.

Questions people ask first

I am not comfortable in front of a camera at all.
Neither is anyone else who books this. That is the normal starting point, not a disqualification. The session is built around it: long, slow, fully directed, with nobody watching.
Do I have to be nude?
No. Plenty of sessions are shot in a shirt and nothing else, or a slip, or a good coat. You decide how far it goes and you can change your mind mid-session.
What should I bring?
Three pieces you already feel something in, plain underwear in your skin tone, and shoes if you want them. After the call I send a written list tailored to what we discussed.
Will my photos end up online?
Only if you sign a release specifically allowing it, and you can withdraw that later. Most clients never do, and it changes nothing about the session.
How much retouching do you do?
Light and structural: stray hairs, a bra strap, a bruise that will be gone next week. I do not reshape bodies. If that is what you are after, I am the wrong photographer.
